Hi,

I’m Stephen, a gliding instructor and private pilot based at the Scottish Gliding Centre at Portmoak Airfield, on the banks of Loch Leven 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

I started my flying journey at Portmoak at the age of 15 in 2006. After a long pause while I focused on education and then my career, I returned to gliding in 2019. Since then, I’ve gained my SPL in 2020 and my PPL in 2021, and went on to become a Flight Instructor in 2023.

I currently hold UK and EASA SPLs, as well as UK and FAA PPLs.

I started this blog to write about personal flying experiences, instructing, and to share these with other pilots who are passionate about flying and the sport of soaring.
